An association governed by the 1901 law, Atmo France pursues an objective of general interest: to contribute, alongside other national players, to providing France with a system ensuring the monitoring of air quality and the evaluation of actions aimed at improving it.
It federates a network of 18 Approved Air Quality Monitoring Associations (AASQA) present in each administrative region of mainland France and overseas as well as an equivalent non-approved association in New Caledonia (the law LAURE not applying to it).

The missions of the Federation are:

Represent and promote the AASQAs to consolidate their place, their role and their sustainability: Atmo France is in charge of monitoring many topics such as finance, the regulatory framework, partnerships and the proactive carrying of proposals aimed at making the system air quality monitoring system that is both more efficient and better identified.
Animate the AASQA network by organizing exchanges, pooling and solidarity: this collaborative work involves the existence of inter-AASQA working groups on various subjects for which a concerted position is necessary.
Identify the major air quality issues and take part in the debates: drawing on the experience and high level of expertise of its network, Atmo France plays its full part in the debates for which the opinion of the AASQA network is wanted or legitimate.
Conduct information actions by communicating news and initiatives to the various national actors and stakeholders in the improvement of air quality to publicize and recognize the expertise and work of the AASQAs.
